We expect a lot from police officers and those charged with keeping us safe, that's why the situation with Shinnston police is so troubling.

For the second time in two years, an officer with the department is being investigated for evidence-related crimes.

The city is taking steps to ensure this doesn't happen again, but the fact that it's happened at all is disturbing.

When police officers violate the law, it tears at the very foundations of our society. City leader must do all they can to make sure our police force is professional and truly dedicated to public safety.
