BUCKHANNON -
A Clarksburg man was killed in a single vehicle accident on US Route 33 west of Buckhannon near Finks Run Rd. around 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Upshur County Sheriff's Office.
John Derrick Davis, 22, of Clarksburg was traveling west on Route 33 in a 2004 Ford One Ton, when the vehicle exited the left side of the road, officials said.
Officials said the vehicle then traveled through the median across the east bound lane striking a guard rail flipping numerous times before landing on its top in Fink Run Creek.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Along with the sheriff's office, Upshur County EMS, Buckhannon Fire Department and W.Va. Division of Highways all responded to the accident.
