Martinsburg earned a second straight class ‘AAA' high school football championship this season. The Bulldogs placed a host of players on the all-state lists and continue to bring in the awards and accolades.
Linebacker Logan Jenkins has been named the 2011 Huff Award winner. The award is given to the state's best defensive player as voted by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
The Huff Award is named after NFL and WVU legend Sam Huff.
Two local standout players finished well in the voting. Morgantown's Christian Allen finished fourth while RCB powerhouse Vinnie Fusco ended up sixth.
Two other North Central West Virginia players have received the Huff Award. Bridgeport's Alex Sutton earned the accolade in 2009. North Marion's Ben Collins is the 1997 Huff Award winner.
