The Spelter Volunteer Fire Department is excited about a new pumper truck that will be coming into the department soon. This tanker is something that the northern end of the county needs, according to Chief Jimmy Blake.

A former member of the department, Benji Barksdale, was on the front line of the September 11th attack on the Pentagon. He also hasn't forgotten his old department by donating gear.
