A few weeks ago, Alderson-Broaddus athletic director Denny Creehan, introduced four new coaches, for four new programs the university will compete in starting next season.

One of the more radical sports that the Battlers are introducing is Men's Volleyball. It's a sport not played in many high schools in West Virginia but the demand for it at the college level is at a peak nationally.

Michael Crane is the newly appointed head coach who has plenty of experience to bring a national program to the Mountain State.

Crane comes to A-B from multiple coaching stints in Muskegon Michigan, one of which was at Muskegon Community College.

The up and coming sport will bring top notch athletes from all over the country as well as play top tier competition.

"I really just tell them about our schedule. Men's volleyball, you can find a place to play anywhere, but you cant find a competitive place to play anywhere," coach Crane stated.
