
The past week has been pretty good to West Virginia Wesleyan forward Jamie Kaufman.
On Dec. 30, the Lady Bobcats beat Shippensburg 85-79. Kaufman scored 35 points, helping her join the 1,000 point club in Buckhannon. The senior now has 1,024 career points at Wesleyan.
The WVIAC announced Tuesday that Jamie Kaufman is the first pick for Women's Basketball Player of the Week in 2012.
Other stats from the game against Shippensburg include Kaufman going 14 for 21 on shots, hitting seven foul shots, grabbing 10 rebounds, notching three assists and having two steals. The senior played 41 minutes of the game.
The conference noted Fairmont State freshman Hailey Garrett as another top performer for the week.
