FAIRMONT -
The Fairmont Senior Lady Polar Bears are 8-0 and are lead by dynamic senior Katie Nunan. However they wouldn't be climbing up the state rankings as fast as they are
"Katie is an excellent player, she can play inside, she can play out, right now she can do it all. Along with her I've got the likes of another senior in Brooklyn Little, an excellent player, athlete who's able to get up and down," Fairmont Senior head coach Corey Hines said.
Watching the Polar Bears play is quite fun. They play as one of the more unified teams in the area and have unrivaled team chemistry. While Nunan garners most of the attention from other teams, it gives Little the opportunity to shine.
"We've played together since seventh grade so our chemistry is there. We play together a lot so we just kind of know where each other is going to be," Little added.
"When you've got a good inside-out, when you've got a person who can hit the three like Brooklyn can and you've got a strong presence on the inside, it's hard so when coaches double-down you can kick it back out to Brooklyn and can hit that three," Hines added.
Little wants to go to college and enter the Air Force ROTC program. Currently, she's looking at her options but for right now, her focus is on what's unfolding right in front of her, as she continues to push towards becoming the best team in the state.
"We're getting there. We're not cocky but we're very, very confident, we're getting there," Little added with a grin.
