2A cold snap early in the week, as expected, as temps plunged on Wednesday morning to the teens and single digits.  As quickly as the cold air got here, it will now start to retreat into New England Thursday and Friday.  It will be replaced by some milder air, which means highs by Friday will reach the lower 50s!  A lack of storm systems will keep the weather dry.

Over the weekend, a weak front wants to push in on Saturday.  Moisture with this system looks limited, so only a few rain showers are expected with this system at this time.  On the back side of the system, a few isolated rain or snow showers can't be ruled out early on Sunday.

Nothing impressive on Monday and Tuesday, so we are keeping it dry with temperatures at or above average, lower to middle 40s.

Models now coming to a consensus that low pressure will lift northeast into the state by late Wednesday and Thursday with rain showers.  Cold air will wrap back around with some snow on Thursday.  Cold air will settle in for a few days, including next weekend with some scattered snow showers.
