An early morning fire sent a Marion County man to the hospital Friday.

It happened at about 4 a.m. in a home located on Jade Court in Worthington.

Worthington Fire Chief Chris McIntyre discovered Timothy Walker, 49, unconscious in a bedroom.

Investigators said Walker initially escaped the flames but went back into the mobile home to extinguish the fire and get his dog out.

Walker, 49, suffered smoke inhalation and burns to his hands.

He was flown by Healthnet to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Walker was later transported to West Penn Burn Center and remains on a ventilator.

Authorities think the fire started in the living room and that a propane heater may be to blame.

Walker's dog managed to escape the house.
