A Morgantown man accused of murdering Christina Terry on Oct. 6 appeared in Monongalia County court Wednesday.

Kevin Utter, 39, pleaded not guilty to first degree murder and third degree arson, in connection with Terry's death.

Utter was indicted on the charges by a grand jury in early January.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department said gas company employees discovered Terry's body near University High School in Morgantown.

Sheriff's deputies said that Utter is also accused of setting Terry's car on fire.  Her car was found burned on Canyon School Road in the Canyon Community.

Utter is being held in the North Central Regional Jail without bail.
