MORGANTOWN -

A Morgantown man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after being hit by a vehicle on Van Voorhis Road near Windwood.

Nicholas Musick, 24, was struck shortly after 2 a.m. by a vehicle driven by Robert Shad, 20, from Maryland.

Witnesses say that Musick ran out in front of Shad's vehicle who was unable to stop before hitting him.

Musick was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital with what police say are serious injuries.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's department is still investigating, anyone with information is to call them at 304-291-7260.

Star City Fired Department, as well as Monongalia EMS, Star City EMS and Monongalia Rescue assisted on scene.
