WV PSC Lowers Gas Rates for Dominion Hope Customers

CHARLESTON -

The state Public Service Commission announced Friday that it entered an order lowering the natural gas rates for residential customers of Dominion Hope.

Rates will be reduced by 3.85 percent or 25 cents per MCF and will go into effect on Feb. 1.

The rate is lower than the one requested by the company.  A final decision on rates is expected in May, according to PSC officials.

The PSC decides on the rate based "on an estimate of future costs utilities will pay for gas from their suppliers."
