The Times West Virginian is collecting canned goods for its third annual 'Gift of Love' food drive.

The Fairmont newspaper will accept non-perishable goods until Monday, Feb. 13.

On Tuesday,Valentine's Day, organizers will start delivering the food to local food pantries.

Fairmont's Soup Opera said the collection always helps it get through the winter months.

"That food helps us get through the next few months," said Shelia Skidmore, of Soup Opera. "Our shelves have been really good, you know after the holidays, but we give out a lot of emergency food orders, so this extra food coming in really helps us."

You can drop off non-perishable food at the Times West Virginian at 300 Quincy Street in Fairmont.
