The Alderson-Broaddus College Relay for Life Committee is kicking-off its 2012 event on Saturday, Feb. 11 in conjunction with the Alderson-Broaddus men's and women's basketball games, according to a news release from the college.
The teams will tip-off against University of Pittsburg-Johnstown will be at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Rex Pyles Arena of the Memorial Coliseum, according to the news release.
All cancer survivors are encouraged to attend and wear purple. Officials said survivors are asked to register by calling Annette Fetty at the college at 304-457-6322.
Cancer survivors will be introduced at half-time of the men's game at 7:30 p.m. and their names will be put in a drawing to win a special prize.
Special events at the kick-off include a silent auction, guessing games and bingo for children in between basketball games.
