Kevin Utter currently being held without bond in the murder of Christina Terry was back in court Wednesday on prior charges.
Utter was arrested in 2010 for possession of heroin.
At that time he filed a conditional guilty plea requiring day report and community service both of which he completed.
His recent arrest was a violation of his plea agreement.
Magistrate Jim Nabors sentenced him to 6 months in jail for the possession charge.
That sentence begins Wednesday and will be served concurrent with previous charges of domestic battery and malicious assault.
