COXS MILL -
A Gilmer County man died as a result of an All Terrain Vehicle accident in an unincorporated area of Gilmer County Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.
Leonard Greenlief, 81, was driving his ATV on Sinking Creek Road near Coxs Mill when it went off the right side of the road and rolled over, W.Va. State Police said. Greenlief was dead upon the arrival of law enforcement. He was not wearing a helmet, officials said.
Sinking Creek Road is unlined. Driving an ATV on it is legal, officials said. Neighbors said he often drove his ATV to get his mail. Police believed that was what he was doing when the accident occurred.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation, W.Va. State Police said.
