Alderson Broaddus College welcomes educators and college students interested in learning about computer programming to its campus on Monday.
The college will be presenting a workshop on a program called ‘alice' that teaches computer programming through computer animation.
"Teaching my computer animation students how to do animation with Alice," said AB professor Gary Schubert. "Also we have about 6 K-12 teachers from the local schools that will be learning Alice. They can then take back and teach alice in the k-12 schools. You know high schools and middle schools."
The program was developed at Carnegie Melon University.
The workshop will be held at AB College on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
For more information, email Gary Schubert at schubertge@wb.edu. To learn more about the program, visit alice.org.
