A training program for young people is hoping to use its past success to build its future.
The Fairmont Mon Youth Build held an alumni reunion Thursday night to help promote the program.
The future of Mon Youth Build is in question since it recently lost its funding, but those who have experienced it first hand say it is an important part of the Fairmont community.
"So many of these individuals take it seriously, and to see them get a chance to get good paying jobs and get good education, to their families, watching them raise their families and become great parents, it's very exciting to even have an opportunity to be a part of that," said Rick Brown, program coordinator for Mon Youth Build.
"The impact it's done on my life, it's got me going through college. It's got me getting my own business started. It's just turned my life around completely," said former student Roger Wiles.
The program is looking at various funding options in the short term with the goal of eventually becoming self sustained.
