A fatal accident occurred near Canaan Valley Friday night, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police in Parsons.
On Feb. 10 at 7 p.m., David Osborne of Falls Church, Va., was driving a 2003 Toyota on State Route 32, near Canaan Valley, state police said.
Osborne lost control of the vehicle due to a snow-covered roadway, crossed the center line, struck another vehicle and went over the guard rail. State police officials said Osborne's vehicle then struck a tree.
Officials said Osborne was injured and transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Ronald Bachman, of Falls Church, Virginia, was a passenger in the vehicle, died from injuries sustained in the crash, state police said.
