North Marion senior lineman Tyler Phillips signed his letter of intent to play football at Fairmont State on Tuesday.
Phillips will roam the defensive line for the Falcons next season. The senior standout also had Glenville State high on his list of potential suitors.
But in the end, Phillips wanted to stay close to home.
"It's (Fairmont State) close to home," Phillips said. "I get to play with some of my old teammates and the location (is good). It's a good opportunity and it's on the rise and I've got a good chace to play for them."
