WVU Alumni Association Holds Game Watch in Fairmont

Posted: Updated:

Thursday night was the rematch of the Backyard Brawl between WVU and Pitt.

The Marion County chapter of the WVU Alumni Association held a game watch at Hoop's Café in Fairmont as part of a national effort by the alumni association to raise money for the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Fund.

Each chapter raffled off an autographed "Huggie Bear" basket with proceeds going to the cancer fund.

Chapter leaders also want to bring alumni together for another common goal: beating Pitt.

"I think that it's real important that we keep our roots connected back to WVU," said chapter leader Jeanie Brenneman.

WVU went on to beat Pitt 66-48.
