BUCKHANNON -
The Buckhannon Police Department is offering residents the chance to learn more about law enforcement.
It will kick off its Citizen's Police Academy on March 13.
Classes will run every Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for 10 weeks.
Chief Matt Gregory said the last time it was held was in 2002.
He said it was time to bring it back.
"It was a very unique opportunity for citizens to take part in, to get to know their officers, get to know about the services through the police department that our department offered to them, and really clear up some misconceptions," Gregory said.
You can pick up applications at city hall. The class is free and seating is limited. The deadline for applications is March 9.
