The Harrison County Sheriff's Department has arrested George Lee Lane, 30, of Hepzibah, in connection to an incident on June 3, 2003.

According to the criminal complaint, Lane confessed to a person that he started a fire that killed Ricky Ferrell, 33, of Hepzibah, who was severely disabled at the time.

In 2003, the sheriff's dept. was unable to obtain evidence to prove that Lane was involved in the arson death.  In Jan. 2012, Lane was involved in a domestic violence situation in Harrison County, where the woman involved told deputies that Lane told her about the arson and death of Ferrell.

In Feb. 2012, the woman recorded a conversation where Lane told her he ignited the fire with a Molotov cocktail and elaborated on other details of the fire.

Lane is charged with first degree murder and arson.  He is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail, with bail set at $100,000.

The Sheriff's Department said the case is still under investigation.
