A local group was celebrating Mardi Gras to save a historic building in Clarksburg.
The Waldo Hotel Preservation Society held the fundraiser at Village Square in Clarksburg on Saturday night.
Money generated from the event will go towards paying taxes on the building, as well as funding improvements to the roof.
Society President Martin Shaffer said the building is too important to be left as it is.
"It's a fine piece of architecture and it's of big significance to the historical downtown district. So for that reason, we'd like it preserved and reopened as a hotel," he said.
