Donations Collected for Fairview Family Devastated by Fire

Posted: Updated:

Fairview residents are coming together to help a family who lost many of their belongings in a weekend fire.

Fairview Fire Chief Steven Gillespie said the fire broke out in the family's laundry room and quickly spread to the rest of the house.

He said the family of four needs everything from furniture, to food, and kids sized clothing.

Backwoods Flowers N More has offered to collect the donations because it has extra space in the shop.

"I've already talked to the fire chief and his wife and they said they'd make arrangements to pick up on Thursdays and take the items to the family every Thursday," said Kurtis Helgeson, Backwoods Flowers N More. "We just wanted to give back to the community and also help this family as well. As Fairview, we are one community, and we all just take care of one another."

Call Backwoods Flowers N More at 304-449-1400 if you have items you'd like to drop off for the family.
