If you've ever been to a real auction you've probably wondered about the auctioneers, and how they do it.
The West Virginia Auctioneers Association will hold its annual convention this weekend at Stonewall Resort.
It'll start Friday with a public speaker, and the always-popular auctioneers contest.
Organizers said the public is welcome and that a lot of us have misconceptions about auctioneers.
"So often we're hired to liquidate," said Bob Stewart, W.Va. Auctioneer Association. "They're putting all their trust into us. So they're coming to see how that works for the general public."
The convention will be Friday and Saturday at Stonewall Resort.
