Adams Office Supply Celebrates 80 Years of Business in Fairmont

Adams Office Supply is celebrating 80 years of business in downtown Fairmont.

The store opened its doors in 1932 and has managed to make a name for itself in North Central West Virginia.

Owner Harvey Havlichek bought the store from its previous owners in 1976.

Employees said they've seen many downtown businesses come and go over the years and said it's their loyal customers that keep Adams Office Supply going.

"80 years for a independent office supply dealer is pretty much unheard of," said Ed Snider, employee at Adams Office Supply. "Back in the 80's and 90's, a lot of them were closing up shop when the big box stores came into play."

Many of the employees, including Snider, have been working at Adams Office Supply for decades.
