Webster County High School held an awards day on Wednesday. Scholarships totaling over $500,000 were given to seniors for colleges and universities throughout West Virginia. Seven Promise Scholarships

The second and third floor of a dormitory at Alderson-Broaddus college in Philippi has been relocated due to structural concerns, according to Ashley Mittelmeier, Communications Director.
Officials said that the college had been working with a structural engineer to monitor the deterioration of the catwalks on the second and third floors of the dorm, named Priestley.
Residents are being placed in alternative housing.
Officials said that students are still able to live on the first floor of the building, citing that they are not at any risk and do not need to use the outdoor catwalks.
