The city of Bridgeport is considering buying a mobile command vehicle to improve its capabilities in a long-term incident or a manhunt.
Chief John Walker said it allows departments to deploy staff and equipment, making them more efficient.
He said they'd also use it for special events like festivals and parades.
It would cost around $300,000.
"If you have other agencies outside your area responding, it's just a full equipped office where you can work out of," Walker said.
Walker said the city council will examine funding options in the next few weeks.
