ROANOKE -
The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce wants its members to stay in touch with each other and their representatives in Washington.
Rep. Shelley Moore Capito was a guest Wednesday at the chamber's monthly networking luncheon at Stonewall Resort.
Capito discussed her support for finishing Corridor H as soon as possible.
She said that's why she supported recent legislation that funded transportation improvements through offshore leasing contracts in the Gulf and Alaska.
Chamber member Charlie Straley said he appreciated the networking opportunity.
"It's the only place we can call everyone together and all the organizations, particularly the business and government sections," he said.
The Chamber of Commerce is based in Weston and is open for membership.
It has monthly luncheons and networking events.
Capito then went to the Jane Lew Industrial Park where she met with Consol Energy business officials, who explained their strategies for the area.
Capito called Marcellus Shale a "phenomenal" opportunity for West Virginia but still had concerns for local businesses.
"I'm hearing small businesses are having difficulty getting lending because of the regulations on the financial institutions," Capito said. "So I want to hear about how I can help that. I'm on the financial services committee so that's something I deal with daily."
We want to know if you agree with Capito's assessment of lending regulations.
