Monongalia County Reassessment Appeals Continue Until March 30

Posted: Updated:

Monongalia County Commissioners continue to see dozens of people a day for reassessment appeals and will continue to until March 30.

On Wednesday a new item was brought to the table regarding the safety of residents in the western end of the county.

Board members of the Clay Battelle Health Center have offered space to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff Al Kisner said he was surprised by the number of calls in that area and residents agree.

"The response time can be significant," said Dr. Janice Morris, of Clay Battelle Health Center. "And there are certain issues that require a little more immediate response and having someone during the high crime times of day as the sheriff pointed out, right there in Blackville, would reduce that significantly."

The commission agreed to vote on approving funding for the office at next week's meeting.
