Struck Sunday Evening with wind gusts to 100 MPH.
A Morgantown man was killed in a logging accident that occurred in Preston County on Saturday, March 3, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police.
Michael Paul McMillen, 57, of Mountain View Road, was logging in the Rowlesburg area, just south of Lantz Ridge Road, when he was struck in the head by a tree branch, state police said.
State police said McMillen was found by a friend who went to check on McMillen when he didn't return home.
The incident is being investigated as an accidental death by Trooper A. N. Alton.
No foul play is suspected, state police said.
