Chief Ernie George has been chief for a little over a year at the Coalton VFD. Chief George had big shoes to fill, taking over for his father who was chief for over 30 years.
One of the biggest projects that the department spearheaded was the construction of a new building. After many hours of hard work, many of them done by the volunteers themselves, the building opened. Chief George said that the new structure benefits both the department and the community.
