One person was taken to the hospital after an accident on Interstate 79 near Jane Lew Friday morning.
West Virginia State Police said a 25-year-old male driving a Pontiac Sunfire was traveling south on I-79 near mile marker 107 when he started to change lanes to pass a tractor trailer.
The tractor trailer was also trying to change lanes, state police said.
The driver of the Sunfire lost control of the vehicle and slammed into the 'Jane Lew 2 Miles' sign. The driver admitted to state police that he was driving at least 80 miles an hour and wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
State police said he was taken to the hospital and that charges are pending.
