UPDATE: 1 Person Flown to Hospital After Rt. 50 Accident in Taylor County

The West Virginia State Police is investigating a vehicle accident that happened at the intersection of Route 50 and Valley Falls Road in Taylor County Thursday afternoon.

Kenneth Lipscomb, driver of a Ford truck, was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital by HealthNet and Jonathan Palmer, 20, and his passenger were transported to Grafton City Hospital, state police said.

Palmer was driving a Toyota south on Valley Falls Road when he failed to stop at a sign and struck Lipscomb's truck on the driver side, state police said.

Palmer and his passenger were treated and released at Grafton City Hospital.  Lipscomb is at Ruby Memorial Hospital in good condition, said a hospital official.

Frontier and Mon Power were notified due to damaged utility lines.

The Grafton Fire Department, Taylor County EMS and the Taylor County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.
