The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources recently reminded residents to not feed wild bears.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources recently reminded residents to not feed wild bears.
The West Union Volunteer Fire Department has been a part of Doddridge County since 1935. Current Chief Pat Heaster joined in the 1970s, and says that better technology over the years has led to better firefighting.
The department's coverage area include the majority of the population of the county, also a busy stretch of Route 50. Chief Heaster says that the roadway keeps his department on it's toes, from car wrecks to hazardous material situations.
Over 30 members are on the department's roster, and Chief Heaster says there is always room for more volunteers.
