Pro Performance Helps CrossFit for Hope

MORGANTOWN -

All across the country Saturday, CrossFit gyms worked out for a good cause.

CrossFit for Hope is an annual event raising money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Saturday morning, nearly a dozen athletes worked out at ProPerformace RX Gym in Morgantown, raising close to $1,000 for the cause.

The CrossFit community is no stranger to working out for a good cause, and Pro Performance Trainer Thomas Hooten said that supporting the community is a big part of being involved in CrossFit.

"We try to get involved in as many of these fundraisers as we can because it is important to do that," said Hooton. "It's important to the community, it's important to me, to get out there and be proactive in this kind of stuff."

CrossFit gyms across the globe hoped to raise a combined $1.7 million.

CrossFit workouts can be described as a short and intense workout combining both conditioning and strength exercises.
