Drew Green, 16, has been involved with motocross for as long as he can remember. He may not have his own mechanic, a state-of-the-art practice facility or even his own trainer, but he does have a passion for the sport and a family that's been with him every step of the way.

"They've put a lot of money into it," motocross rider Drew Green said. "It takes a lot and a lot of effort and everything. They all help me get through this. They're the main reason."

"When Drew's down there on the starting line these other racers are talking to him and asking, 'Who's your trainer, who'd your Dad hire as a mechanic?' And it's just us. His brother works with him on his fitness and rides with him. We take care of anything with paperwork or financially and let him focus on riding, being a kid and still focusing on his high school sports," Drew's mother Cheryl Green said.

Apparently that hard work has paid off in a big way. Drew traveled to Alabama a few weeks ago for the Southeast Regional Championship and came away with first place. He now qualifies for the Loretta Lynn Ranch Motocross National Championship next month in Tennessee and his brother Brandon said he couldn't believe his eyes.

"I realized halfway through the race that he had the overall [number] one and he locked up with championship," Drew's brother Brandon Green said. "All he had to do was stay on two wheels. So I was jumping up and running around. I was excited."

Drew became one of the nearly 1,500 qualifiers out of 20,000 racers from across America to earn a spot in the National Championship. But to him, he said he's just excited about the opportunity to ride in the national spotlight.

"I'm really excited to see what I can do down there," Green said. "I'm just hoping to go down there and do good, just ride and have fun."
