Summer Practice Period Check-In: South Harrison Volleyball

LOST CREEK -

Lots of sports share the gym during the three week high school summer practice period. South Harrison volleyball is taking some time on the court.

The Hawks find themselves in rebuilding mode after a tough season last year. Second year Head Coach Kayla Nutt said she's focusing on building her team's skills during the three week summer practice period.

Nutt said she's seen a vast change in the team's attitude from a season ago as well.

The Hawks only lose one senior and will be dominated by juniors and sophomores.

South Harrison understands if it wants to contend, then it all starts right here during summer practices.

"We need to work harder every single day and practice as hard as we can. Play like we practice and practice like we play. We need to put out a lot of effort and do good, better than last year. We just need to work on everything everyday and not just one thing. Just keep working harder and harder," said junior Hitter Amber Carder.

"The team morale is definitely up," said Coach Nutt. "The girls are excited I think, as far as preparation and things like that, they definitely came in more prepared this year."
