During the three week summer practice period, lots of high school basketball teams play in summer leagues. Teams also travel to shootouts across the state.
The Robert C. Byrd Flying Eagle Shootout played out Wednesday and Thursday in Clarksburg.
Preston, Capital, Gilmer County, Notre Dame, North Marion, Parkersburg, Bridgeport and of course RCB participated in games at RCBHS and Washington Irving Middle School.
Eagles' Head Coach Bill Bennett said it's a great time to see talent not from our area.
"It really gives us a chance to play against some quality competition, here in our own gym, and that's kind of what we look for every year. So it's nice to have our local teams we get in, but it's also nice to have some of our BIG 10 teams, Preston and North Marion and then to bring in Parkersburg and Capital," said Coach Bennett.
