Last month, Buckhannon-Upshur junior Emily Godwin walked away from the High School State Track Meet with four titles. That earned Godwin a perfect 40 points and high point accolades.
The awards keep rolling in.
Godwin has been named the Gatorade West Virginia Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year. This is the second year in a row Godwin has earned the award.
Godwin led her team to a second place finish by winning the 100 Meter Hurdles, 300 Meter Hurdles, High Jump and Long Jump.
Gatorade awards the honor to one player from each state in football, volleyball, cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and track and field. The sports drink company also gives a national athlete of the year award which Godwin is now eligible for.
