Fans will see some changes at Duvall-Rosier Field at Fairmont State University this fall. On Thursday, FSU introduced a design for a brand new scoreboard with video, courtesy of BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Company.
The dimensions will be 36 x 26 feet and the video board in the center will be 18 x 11. The scoreboard will feature video and replay capabilities along with state of the art graphics. The videoboard will be able to stream games live at Duvall-Rosier Field. It will also be available for sports other than football that play at FSU.
It will be installed before The Falcons first home game.
A new scoreboard was needed at the football field, the old one had problems this past season. It was more than 25 years old.
FSU Athletic Director Rusty Elliot said the plan for the new scoreboard is something everyone in the Fairmont community should be proud of.
"It's a very generous gift from BrickStreet," Elliot said. "We really appreciate it here at Fairmont State University. It's going to be one of our show places now. Obviously our field turf is nice. We re-did out press box and now this new scoreboard is really going to be the icing on the cake for us. So we're really excited about it and it's really going to be a big plus for our athletic programs."
