Three people are dead and two are in custody after a shooting in Webster County Wednesday night, according to state police.

Amanda York, 28, called the county 911 center around 6:30 p.m.Wednesday evening and allegedly told dispatchers that she shot the victims after they came to a home making threats. However, a 5-year-old child at the home told police that York's husband, Michael York, 44, was the shooter.

Amanda York told police that she had Michael York leave for Kentucky and she stayed behind to attempt to hide one of the bodies.  York later told police that he had actually hidden the body before leaving and she tried to help him.  York was arrested several hours after the shooting on Interstate 79 in Clay Count, said Webster County Prosecuting Attorney Dwayne Vandevender.

Both Michael York and Amanda York have been charged with three counts of murder.  Michael York was also charged with one count of concealment of a deceased human body.  They are both being held at the Central Regional Jail.

EMS from Hacker Valley VFD and Webster Springs VFD, Webster County Sheriff's Department, WV State Police, and the Webster County Coroner were dispatched to scene.

The WV State Police Crime Scene Team has been requested to assist in the investigation.

Vandevender said the victims have been identified as Dustin Brown, 26 of Hacker Valley, Lamar D. Allen, also known as Elle Coates, 49, and Denise L. Coates, 49, both formerly of Maryland and current residents of Hacker Valley.

The state police said they're investigating the shootings as a triple homicide. They believe this is an isolated incident.
