Heston Arts and Music Festival Debuts

Posted: Updated:

Heston Farms held the Heston Arts and Music Saturday.

About 20 art and craft vendors worked as bands played.

Organizers said music and art shows have been lost over time and are critical in revitalizing the area. They said festivals were once prevalent in Fairmont.

"You can go all the way back to when we came out of the dark ages with the Medici family. They knew it was going to be art and music and stuff, the renaissance that's what I'm talking about and Fairmont is in a stage of a renaissance right now," said John Provins, Event Coordinator at Heston Farms.

Music went from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday.

Cost of admission is $10. Part of the proceeds go to the United Way of Marion County.
