Bill Larew has been involved off and on with the Newburg Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. After retiring, Bill is back with the department after it fell on financial woes.
The VFD currently responds to, on average, 100 calls a year. Many of those during the typically hard Preston County Winters.
Larew has a manpower shortage, an issue that all volunteer departments are facing in the area. He hopes that more people will join to help the community.
