Alderson-Broaddus College held a press conference, Friday, to introduce more new coaches that have joined the Battler athletic department.
Athletic Director and Football Coach Denny Creehan recognized his staff along with the new softball coach. Long-time softball coach J.D. Long has moved to the academic side of A-B.
Creehan then introduced all the new coaches that have been added since The Battlers first announced they were adding five new sports., about a year ago. Those five original sports are football, men's and women's lacrosse, men's volleyball and women's tennis. Each sport begins competing this athletic year.
A-B didn't stop at five sports. The athletic department has doubled in size and added five spirit teams, which will be under the athletics umbrella. The six newest sports added for the Battlers will being playing in 2013. The six new sports are men's and women's golf, men's and women's swimming, wrestling and acrobatics and tumbling.
There are now 27 programs in the department.
Golf, swimming, and acrobatics and tumbling coaches spoke at the press conference along with the new band director.
