Upgrades are happening at Fairmont State University in just about every shape and form possible.

Renovations are underway for several different projects, Duvuall-Rosier Field is getting a brand new scoreboard and now the Falcons are installing equipment that will allow for live webcasts of FSU sporting events.

The school has purchased three cameras, more than 3,000 feet of cable, a video switcher and a portable station that houses a computer with the necessary software to produce webcasts in high-definition. This basically allows FSU to have television-like broadcasts to its website.

Fairmont State's strategic planning grants allowed for the purchase of the equipment.

Associate Director of Athletics for Media Relations Adam Zundell said the new gear will be first used at Falcon volleyball matches before FSU's first home football game on September 22. The web production might also be utilized at the upcoming inauguration of the new Fairmont State president.
