The University of Charleston men's soccer team is the reigning WVIAC champion. The Golden Eagles now have more pressure put on them. In the 2012 Preseason Coaches' Poll, UC received eight first place votes and 98 points, picked to repeat at the top team in the league. UC's other two votes were both for second place.
Behind UC, by 10 points, is rival West Virginia Wesleyan. The Bobcats received two first place votes and total of 88 points, making WVWC second in the poll.
Coming in at the third spot is Davis & Elkins. The Senators totaled 79 points with one second place vote and seven third place nods.
Wheeling Jesuit played UC for the WVIAC Championship in 2011. The Cardinals are picked to finish fourth in the conference with 73 points from one second place vote and two third place choices.
Seton Hill rounds out the top five with 59 points. The Griffins received two fourth place votes.
