Former Mountaineer and West Virginia State High School Player of the Year Noah Cottrill is now officially on the West Virginia Wesleyan roster.
New Men's Basketball Coach Patrick Beilein, a former Mountaineer himself, announced the addition to his roster on Monday. Beilein played for the Mountaineers while his father John Beilein was the head coach.
Cottrill withdrew from West Virginia University in 2011 after he was suspended indefinitely from the WVU men's basketball team during his freshman year.
Cottrill had plans to play at Mountain State University in 2012 but the school got rid of the basketball program in July.
Cottrill's high school career included winning the 2010 Class ‘AAA" State Championship with Logan High.
"Noah is extremely excited to be at West Virginia Wesleyan, he understands this is a great opportunity for him to excel in the classroom and on the court," said Coach Beilein according to a WVWC press release. "He has embraced all the challenges that lie ahead, and is looking forward to being a part of the Wesleyan community."
"Noah has a great opportunity here both academically and athletically, we have made sure he understands the polices of not only our basketball program, but also the athletic department and institutional policies as well," added WVWC Athletic Director Randy Tenney according to a WVWC press release.
