We have all heard the saying, "A dog is a man's best friend." You may never know how true that statement is until you meet a dog that comes from the program "Paws 4 People."

The Cassville VFD was formed in the late 1940s under the name Scott's Run VFD. As more departments were formed, the name Cassville was adopted. Assistant Chief Dave Tennant said it is still known under both names.
Route 7 is a busy road that sits right in front of the department. Several trucks travel the road each day, some containing hazardous materials. To deal with these events, the department trains one to two times a month.
As with other towns, Assistant Chief Tennant said the community is very supportive of the department.
